Testing & Quality Control

At BC9, we prioritize the integrity and purity of our research products through rigorous testing and quality control measures. Our commitment to excellence is reflected in the following key aspects:

Purity Standards:

Every product at BC9 undergoes testing by a 3rd party laboratory to ensure a minimum purity of 98%, aligning with the global standards employed by reputable laboratories and chemical suppliers. This dedication to high purity levels is paramount in meeting the stringent requirements of scientific research, medical studies, and clinical applications.

Certificate of Analysis (CoA):

Our third party testing company offers Analytical testing for wide-range chemicals. MZ Biolabs offers analytical testing for a wide range of chemicals compounds, including peptides and small molecules. By using HPLC with UV detection combined with mass spectrometry, we can confirm the compounds you are manufacturing or importing are correctly identified and meet your specifications. We typically test purified compounds (raw powders), but can also quantify compounds which have been formulated in liquid, tablets, and capsules. Purity testing does not test for activity, sterility/endotoxins, heavy metals, or pH. We frequently analyze peptides, SARMS, nootropics, vitamins, and other research compounds. MZ Biolabs is a US DEA schedule III licensed facility and proudly serves clients world wide. Certificates of analysis are available for purity of raw powders and liquids as well as quantification of solutions, tablets, and capsules.

3rd Party Testing

Each product batch undergoes rigorous analysis and validation at an external laboratory to ensure quantitative (purity) and qualitative (identity) aspects and contaminant screening. A list of testing techniques we used and a brief explanation of each is listed below:

Purity:

High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC)

High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) is the primary method used to test the purity of most compounds. It’s employed when a single molecule or class of molecules can be assayed. In HPLC, a pressurized liquid and sample mixture passes through a column filled with adsorbent, separating sample components based on their affinity to the adsorbent. Light is shone on the separated components as they exit the column. Organic compounds absorb light to varying degrees, detected by a sensor that records retention time. This data, analyzed based on peak area, reveals the sample’s components. Additionally, it can be fed into another analytical machine for further analysis, such as LC-MS.

Identity:

Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR)

Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR) is a technique used to analyze the chemical composition of substances based on their absorption of infrared radiation. In FTIR spectroscopy, a sample is exposed to infrared light over various frequencies. As the infrared light interacts with the sample, specific wavelengths are absorbed, corresponding to the vibrational modes of the chemical bonds within the molecules. The remaining light is then measured and analyzed. By comparing the absorbed wavelengths to known spectra, FTIR can provide detailed information about the sample’s functional groups and chemical bonds, aiding identification and characterization.

Quality Control Questions

Why do we test compounds?

Testing compounds for identity and purity is crucial to guaranteeing the quality of our BC9 compounds. While we trust our suppliers, verifying that each powder is exactly what it claims to be and is as pure as possible is essential. To do this, we send our compounds to a trusted third-party lab. They use FTIR to confirm the compound’s identity by analyzing its unique spectrum. For purity, they use HPLC to ensure no unwanted impurities could affect the final product. These tests give us confidence in the quality of our compounds, ensuring that they meet the highest standards before reaching our customers.

How do I know BC9’s compounds exceed 98% purity?

When our suppliers synthesize a compound, it comes with a particular purity level. However, we utilize a process called recrystallization to achieve an even higher purity level. Recrystallization is a purification technique commonly employed to enhance the purity of chemicals. Typically, suppliers may only perform this process if requested or if there’s a strong business partnership, as it can reduce the yield of their synthesis, impacting their profits. However, recognizing our stringent standards, our suppliers will recrystallize batches for us when necessary. This ensures we can deliver compounds of exceptional purity to our clients with minimal impurities. All our testing data indicates that our raw compounds consistently exhibit a chromatographic purity exceeding 98%.

What is batch coding, and why is it important?

Batch coding is a reliable mechanism for efficiently tracking and tracing our products. Each solution is allocated a distinctive batch code, a unique sequence of numbers exclusive to that particular batch. In the event of an issue, batch codes enable us to pinpoint when the problem occurred and swiftly identify the affected products. Furthermore, our customers can easily access pertinent information, such as test reports, associated with their specific batch, enhancing transparency and accountability throughout the product lifecycle.

How is a foreign material inspection conducted?

Raw material containers undergo inspection for foreign materials, ensuring the absence of contaminants.

What is the final review and release process?

After completing all tests, we conduct a final review to ensure accuracy before releasing the material from quarantine.

What is the significance of the Certificate of Analysis (COA)?

A COA is generated for materials that pass all tests, indicating compliance with specifications and allowing for use in production.

Trust BC9 for unparalleled quality, purity, and support in your scientific exploration. Your research deserves the assurance of excellence, and we deliver that with our unwavering commitment to testing and quality control.
